Rev. H. Phillip Huey, 61, of Silver Island (Kingman) died at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2000 at his residence. Born on November 24, 1938 in Portland, he was the son of Ralph Elliott and Thelma Irene (Swain) Huey. Rev. Huey was affiliated with the Church of God. He was a graduate of Jay County High School in Portland. He received his ordination from Anderson College in 1971. He enjoyed raising horses, bass fishing and collecting antique glassware. He was a veteran, serving with the U. S. Army. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ann Heiby. He later married Cheryl Wilson on March 31, 1976 in Covington. She survives. Also surviving, are: two daughters, Linda Saults of Dana and Kathryn (David) Krimmer of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sons, Michael Huey of Tool, Texas and David (Belinda) Huey of Grand Rapids, Mich.; his mother, Thelma Huey of Portland; six grandchildren; a sister, Mona Lou (Harold) Brumm of Syracuse; and a brother, Jim (Shirley) Huey of Portland. He was also preceded in death by his father and a brother, Mike Huey. Visitation was Thursday at DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home, Cayuga. Service there on Friday with Rev. William L.
